Most school software assumes a school that already has clean data, steady internet and a full-time IT person. Takadar is built for the one that has a bursar with a cash book, three WhatsApp groups, and a term starting on Monday.

Why we built it
Your school already has the information. It is just not in one place.
Your school is already running a management system. It is spread across an admissions book, a cash book, a receipt booklet, a register, one spreadsheet only the bursar understands, and a chat group. The information all exists. Nobody can see it at once, and you are usually the last person to find out what it says.
You should not have to ask three people to find out whether one child has paid.
Takadar puts the same information in one place and gives each person only their part of it. A form teacher opens it to their classes. A parent opens it to their own child. The bursar opens it to the money. You open it to all of it.
Your bill works the same way - in naira, per student, per month, from ₦200 per student. A school's costs move with its enrolment, so a term with forty fewer children should cost you less without a phone call or a renegotiation, and a term with a hundred more should not put you on a different plan. Takadar also takes no cut of what your school collects: when a parent pays a term's fees, every naira of it is your school's. Parents who pay online see the card processing charge and Takadar's small published fee before they pay, and your school decides who covers the processing charge. Record cash and bank transfers, or let parents use supported Flutterwave methods online; every online transaction is verified before Takadar issues a numbered receipt.

Takadar is built and supported by a small team in Nigeria. Write to hello@takadar.com and you reach the people who build it.
The rest you can check against the product itself. A report card in Takadar carries the columns your exams officer already rules by hand: continuous assessment and exam marks in their own columns at the weights your school sets, the total, the grade, the class average, position, the class teacher's remark, the principal's signature line and next term's resumption date. A fee can be paid in instalments, in cash, or by bank transfer with the teller photographed and attached - and your bursar approves a transfer before it counts as paid, because that is who checks it today. Parents can also use supported Flutterwave methods online; Takadar verifies the transaction before it counts as paid.
None of that was retrofitted for African schools afterwards. It is what the product was built around first, and it is the difference between software built here and software translated here. Takadar is new. We are onboarding our first schools now and we work directly with each one - we walk you through moving your student list across, stay close through your first term of fee collection, and fix what does not fit.
If you want software that is already finished and unchangeable, we are not that yet. If you want a say in how it works, this is the best time to start.
What we will not do
Four things you will never have to negotiate.
- Takadar takes no cut of what your school collects. Your school pays us per student per month; in Nigeria, parents who pay online also pay a small published fee, shown before they pay.
- You will never sign a lock-in contract, and you will never pay a setup fee to start.
- Your records are yours. Export your students, fees and payment history whenever you want them, on any plan.
- We will never market to your parents on our own behalf. The only notices they see in Takadar are the ones your school sends.
All four go to you in writing before your school pays us anything.
Who this is not for.
If you have fewer than about 90 students, the ₦18,000 monthly minimum probably makes us the wrong choice today. Tell us anyway and we will say so honestly - write to hello@takadar.com and we would rather lose the sale than put a monthly bill on a school it cannot carry. Either way we confirm your rate in writing before your first invoice.
