How is our institution’s data kept separate?
Every institution-scoped record carries a school ID. PostgreSQL row-level security filters data in the database, so a signed-in user cannot query another institution’s records. Permissions then control access inside your own.
Does Takadar work for universities and polytechnics?
Yes. Higher education runs on the same student record with programmes, levels, credit units, GPA and CGPA, course registration, result approval from department to faculty to senate, and transcripts. Universities and polytechnics have their own plans and volume bands.
Can you move our existing records?
Student and staff lists can be imported by CSV with a row-by-row preview before anything is committed. Guardians, opening balances and past results need assisted setup for now. Write to hello@takadar.com with what you have, and we will confirm the migration plan.
What happens when the internet is slow or power goes out?
Takadar runs in the browser and is designed for phones on mobile data. There is no offline mode, so attendance and score submissions need a live connection. Unsaved work may need to be entered again after an interruption.
Will Takadar work on our staff’s existing phones?
Yes. Takadar works in modern mobile browsers such as Chrome and Safari. There is no app-store download, and common tasks such as attendance and score entry are designed for phone screens.
How do families receive information?
Students and families use the portal to check fees, attendance, results and notices. SMS is on the roadmap and is not live yet, so families currently need browser access to see updates.
Does Takadar take a cut of fees?
No. Fees settle to your institution’s account. You can record cash and bank transfers or accept supported Flutterwave methods online. Takadar verifies online transactions before issuing numbered receipts.
Can we export our data if we leave?
Your records are yours. Export your students, fees and payment history whenever you want them, on any plan. Exports are provided as CSV files covering students, outstanding fees and recorded payments. There is no lock-in contract.
